About the Users' Office

The Users' Office was founded in 1989 and is the portal for CERN's guest scientists as Users, Cooperation Associates and Visiting Scientists.

The day-to-day work of the The Users' Office Staff covers a wide range of subjects.
Newcomers register here, fill in and receive their contracts and residence papers and get advice. Registration is of course only one part of the administrative business. The Users' Office staff handles a large number of electronic requests for example for contract extensions and modifications.

The Users’ Office  provides the information and link to ACCU, the Advisory Committee of CERN User.

The Users' Office together with the larger experiment secretariats is responsible for the maintenance of the data in the Grey Book, the database of Experiments at CERN.

Information about CERN, Geneva, the local area of France, is available on the Web and on a self-service basis in the open space area.
