The Regulations under the Law on Integration and Individual Welfare (“Règlement d’exécution de la loi genevoise sur l’insertion et l’aide sociale individuelle“) defines the amounts intended to cover the basic needs, for example: monthly maintenance fee of 1’100.- CHF for one person (food, clothing, energy consumption, housekeeping, transport, communication, leisure and training, etc.) and up to 1’465. – CHF for rent and rental charges for one person.

As an indication, the minimum wage in the Canton of Geneva in 2026 is CHF 4,262.27 gross per month for a 40-hour working week, corresponding to an hourly rate of CHF 24.59.
