ACCU presentation (3 December.2019)
An A1 certificate is required for Users who are employed by a home institute in the EU or in an EFTA country and travel to another EU/EFTA country for business.
The Home Institution Declaration by which the User’s home institution declares that they have adequate social security coverage in Switzerland, France, or other countries visited on duty travel, is an internal means for CERN to ensure that Users remain constantly covered, but the HID cannot be seen as material proof of such adequate coverage or as an exemption from the A1 requirement. The HID therefore does not replace the A1 certificate.
Although users are not requested to show their A1 Form to the Users Office upon registration or contract extension, they must carry an A1 Form when traveling to CERN.
Please check the following website: https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/work/social-security-forms/
For Users: Experiments Secretariats
For COAS and VISC: Departmental Administrative Officers or Group Administrative Officer.
EDH pre-registration forms are valid for 6 months starting from the date of signature of the Home Institution Declaration (provided the contract end date is also still valid).
If you want to keep your computer account, please ask your Team Leader or Experiment Secretariat to register you as an External Participant in an Experiment.
Once you have successfully been pre-registered as a User, COAS, VISC or External Participant in an Experiment, you can send a request to obtain a computing account to the Service Desk.
It will not be possible for you to register for any classroom-based training sessions before finalising your registration (ie. signing your contract in person at the Users Office).
It is nevertheless possible for you to pre-register for classroom-based training sessions.
Once you have successfully been pre-registered as a User, COAS, VISC or External Participant in an Experiment, your computing account will be automatically activated. More information on Automatic activation of the computing account.
Please refer to the CERN admin e-guide for information on visitor access cards.
